What is Harrisons?

Harrisons Bird Food is a nutritionally complete pellet for your bird. It can be provided to all captive species of birds ranging from budgerigars to macaws. Improper nutrition accounts for 90% of health problems in birds and is the leading cause of mortality in avian medicine.  Therefore, a complete and balanced diet is incredibly important for the health and longevity of your bird.

Why should I feed my bird Harrisons?

Harrisons is the only certified organic bird pellet available on the commercial market. To be classified as certified organic, all products contained within the Harrisons pellet must be grown without the use of artificial fertilizers or pesticides and no genetically modified (GM) seeds are allowed to be utilized in the pellet. The fact that Harrisons does not utilize pesticides in their product is incredibly beneficial to your bird. Pesticides kill, sicken or weaken birds either directly through ingestion or indirectly by killing off their food sources or destroying their habitat. Parrots are particularly sensitive to noxious chemicals, even more so than humans and other animals as is evident by their sensitivity to plastic-coated cookware (Teflon) and chemical cleaners.  Overall, Harrisons does not utilize any pesticides, preservatives, artificial colors, sweeteners, or flavors, and no double-dosed vitamins that could otherwise lead to, or contribute to toxicity in your bird. It is an excellent and nutritionally complete option to be utilized as a base diet in your bird.
